Need Some Romance?

What is the most stereotypical date in America?  Most would say dinner and a movie.

It doesn’t have to be.

Next time you and your significant other are looking for something different to do take the stereotypical dinner and movie and make it a little sexier.  First off, ditch the resturant.  Opt for take-out.  Each of you should order something you both like so you can share.  Don’t eat at the table - that’s too much distance.  Eat at the coffee table, right next to each other, and feed each other a bite now and again.  While your eating, pop in a movie - but not just any movie.  Make it a foreign film.  They have great story lines and you will come to find out that most foreign directors like to explore the sexual side of human behavior in a more realistic (not to mention animalistic) way.  I don’t recommend these movies for the feignt-of-heart, but for those of us who like to venture off the beaten path every now and again, these films will be right up your alley. (Just don’t forget to turn on the English subtitles.)  They seem to explore life and relationships in a more realistic way than the typical American romance film.  When the food is gone, turn the lights down low, and let the movie be your guide.

Here is a short list of films to get you started:

Lila Says (French)

5×2 (French)

Facing Windows (Italian)

There are hundreds of other great films out there, but these should get you started.
