Gmail is the S*%t (da Shit)

If you haven’t heard of Google’s Gmail service you must have been living under a rock. For the past 3 years Gmail has been in an “invite-only” beta. Now Gmail has been opened to the public and if you haven’t yet got your own address, I’ll give you 11 reasons why you should. I have been using it for about 2 years now so this comes from experience.

  1. You can have any other e-mail account forwarded to Gmail so you won’t have to tell everyone you got a new e-mail address. (Was that your first question?)
  2. You get 2.8 gigabytes of storage and this amount increases everyday, automatically. (If this isn’t enough space for your e-mail you might want to see a psychiatrist.)
  3. The SPAM filter is great.
  4. You can find that message that grandma sent you 2 years ago quickly with the search function.
  5. It’s free.
  6. No pop-ups and advertising is limited to a small text line at the top of the page that is tailored to your interests.
  7. It automatically groups messages with the same subject its replies into “conversations” so you can keep track of those back-and-forth e-mails.
  8. If you use the FireFox web-browser (you should be) you can installed a great helper application called GreaseMonkey you can add great scripts to make Gmail even more fun to use.
  9. If you combine Gmail with the Google Toolbar you increase your functionality tenfold.
  10. You can chat in the same screen you use to check your email.
  11. Having a Google Account enables you to access a variety of great services that are all free!

To get your own jemmille.com e-mail address that uses all of the great features listed above and give you access to all of Googles services, email admin@jemmille.com
