Ok, I know what you are saying…”No one knows the answer to this.”…but bear with me. I’m not claming that I do, but I heard something the other day that summed it up well for me, and I wanted to share it with all of you.  This quote deals specifically with marriage, but if necessary, just replace the word with whatever fits.

“We need a witness to our lives. There’s a billion people on the planet… I mean, what does any one life really mean? But in a marriage, you’re promising to care about everything. The good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things… all of it, all of the time, every day. You’re saying ‘Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness’.”

Unless you end up being famous and people are clammoring to write your biography, chances are the people you are close to are the ones that will write it for you (figuratively of course).  Everyone needs a witness; everyone needs to be noticed.

BONUS:  If anyone can tell me what movie this quote comes from (no search engines) then you will get a prize.  The prize will probably suck because I’m poor, but a prize none-the-less.
