Funny How the Web Works

After writing an article bashing Twitter I find myself in an odd state of confusion and happiness.

I was looking at my site statistics which provides a list of incoming links and how many people have clicked-in from specific sites. I was shocked to see that www.twitter.com had provided over half of my incoming links over the past two days.

How could that be I asked myself? After a bit of searching, I solved the quandary.

I go to this great site, www.laughingsquid.com. I submitted a comment to one of their articles that discussed Twitter. My comment was much like my post from Tuesday (but much shorter).  Laughingsquid has a Twitter account and apparently they thought the post on my site was “Twitterworthy” so they passed on the message to their “Twitterpals”.

Long story short, I have to thank Twitter for half of my traffic for the past two days. So… I submit to saying thanks to Twitter, but mostly thanks to Scott from laughingsquid.com for coming to my site and reading the article in the first place.

Irony anyone?

By the way, I have no idea if “Twitterworthy” or “Twitterpals” are actual Twitter lingo.
