My “Daily Dose”

Everyday I go to the same sites. Of course, I do deviate from time to time - find new sites and such - but for the most part my core group stays the same. Some of these sites have been on my list for 10 years, some for only a few months. The list always grows and rarely shrinks.

Slashdot.org - I have been with this site for as long as I can remember. It was a blog before blogs were cool. I have yet to have an article I submit make it on the front page, but I’m not giving up yet.

    Google.com - Do I need to explain?

BlogPaul - Maybe this one is a little bias since we have become friends, but in my defense, I was reading his page before we became partners on another blog. Anytime I need to laugh, Paul takes care of me. Now if I can just figure out how he gets beautiful women from Texas to come to Florida for a photo shoot, I’ll be set.

Lucky Renee - This girl can write. I am entranced by her honesty, bluntness, and style. She is a young writer with the voice of someone much older. I’m willing to bet she has a future in the business of writing. I think she would agree, since she spent her last 4 years at my alma-mater getting a degree is in journalism! I actually think I have been with this page since the very first day.

MySpace.com - How else do I keep in touch with my friends from high school and college. I was able to reconnect with some people I was sure had forgotten about me. Besides friends, MySpace is one of the best places I have found to hear new music. My current favorite - the Virgin Millionaires.

SongMeanings.net - I don’t care so much about the “meanings” part, but I listen to new music everyday and this is the place to go for lyrics. The beat or guitar riff gets me hooked, then the lyrics keep me coming back.

Inc. - Everything for the small business. The print magazine is also great.

Isohunt - I pay for software I use daily, but if I need something for a specific purpose and will only need it once…does music count? :-)

MyBlogLog.com - If you are reading this, there’s a good chance you are familiar with this one. It’s a great place to meet people in the blogging world and find some cool sites. I once came across the blog of a chauffeur. It was like Taxicab Confessions but for people that can afford limo’s.

Wired - I have so many Wired magazines in my house I could probably reconstitute a Redwood tree. I can’t get enough. I got a notice the other day saying it was my final issue of the paid subscription. I called them immediately and said, “I paid for 5 years in advance.” The kindly replied “That was 5 years ago, sir.” Damn time flies. Needless to say, I’m paid up for a good while now. The website just quenches my thirst until the next issue.

I guess that is it. I go to hundreds, if not thousands of other sites per week, but this is my core group — My “daily dose” if you are so inclined.

What is your “daily dose”. With billions of sites, I’m you have been to plenty to add. Comment away!
