ilker, you can account for “moving” links in clickdensity by checking the ‘follow targets’ box when creating reports; this then ‘normalises’ the positions of all clicks relative to where the source of the click currently is on the page.

I need to take a look at those sites you mention. I couldn’t agree more that learning as much as you can about your site’s visitors is invaluable. I am a huge fan of Google Analytics – it is free and has taught me so much about my site and its users. I have also been able to make improvements to its navigational structure thanks to the knowledge gained from Google Analytics.

PS – You must have the hardest CAPTCHA images I have ever seen! Do they need to be so tough?!?

It’s the combination of the three that help me. Sometimes I can’t see how many little X’s show up (representing clicks) because there are too many. The heat map gives me a different way to look at the same data.

Hmmm.. I had that heatmap thing installed on my blog for a bit but I removed it because it doesn’t really say much when the posts keep changing place (i.e. links appear on different posts in different places and it doesn’t provide much valuable information imo).
